One wheel peel???

I did quite a shoke show a few days ago leaving work, then I looked at it the next day, there was only one tire mark! I did a little burn out today just to see what would happen, and again, only one mark. WTF? I can't afford a 12 bolt right now, so any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks -Rob

Sounds like your posi is hosed...seems like a couple years ago I read about a temp fix in CHP magazine I'll try to find it for you...in the meantime hopefully someone else will have some suggestions.

Agreed, from the way it sounds the posi is taking a vacation :P I didn some calling around maybe six months ago and they seem to be going for around $600 at salvage.

I decided it wasn't worth it for the type of driving I typically do and drove it for another six with the bad posi :P

i heard you can try to change your diff fluid, just remember to add the limited slip additive from the dealer, and from no where else. It worked for some guy on another board, and spending 30 bucks is alot better than 300

Sometimes changing the fluid will help, I have seen people with this problem and they weren't even sure if they put in any additive-very important. Also, some people here have complained that using Mobil 1 gear oil has caused problems as well.

Another thing that could of happened is ,if you ever put the spare "doughnut" tire on the rear. Since it is smaller that the regular tire it can burn up your posi. Not sure if you did that in the past but even a few miles with the doughnut can burn up the posi, that is why you are supposed to take a regular tire from the front put it on the rear and then put the doughnut on the front (if your rear tire goes flat, etc). In any case good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to change my fluids this weekend and see what happens.

If you Posi has gone out completely, SLP sells the Zexel-Torsen for $100. I put one in my 3.8 car. Easy install and cheap for a limited slip. No clutches to wear out either.
