One of my injectors is missing an O-ring!!

I am in the process of repairing the intake leak. In pulling the fuel rail when one of the injectors came out it was missing the o-ring.

I had this repaired by a dealer about 3.5 years ago (about 15k miles) and it is leaking again. Well anyway, does anyone think they could have left it off? Would it have run well without it? I have looked in the topend and down the intake port and I do not see it anywhere.

So, if I don't find it and it is in there will it just get demolished and not cause any harm or will it tear up something? I am hoping for the latter.

The o-ring won't hurt anything if it gets "ingested". It would not last long in the combustion chamber. Slap a new one on and go on with life.

Shoebox --Thanks for the info.

I may need your site once I get everything going back together. If/when I forget where something goes.

Thanks again.

Are you sure it didn't come off the injector when you pulled the rails from the manifold?

Nope, I am not sure. I looked for it though and do not see it anywhere.

Check inside the injector bosses. Might be hard to locate.

Is that the hole the injector mounts in?
