One Last Time: What Things Are Needed For Heads/Cam Etc...Swap???
Ok guys..........
Say i have a HotCam Kit, Comp Cam 850-16 Lifters, Comp Chromely Pushrods/Guideplates, APR head bolts/Roker Arm Studs, Cleaned Up - Heads, Newer Stock WP, Was also going with an 95+ Opti Conversion BUTTTTTTTTTT say i have an Electromotive SDI Opti Delete...
What are ALL the Gaskets/Seals/Gears Etc that i'll need? I want to change anything and everything while i'm at it, so anything that should be needed or could be changed, i want to do...
I wanna be able to have everything on paper to start gathering them up. I want to go with Impala Head Gaskets but how do they go well with n20 maybe in the future? Also i had a Cloyes Timing Chain Set but i traded it for a new 95+ Stock Timing Chain and Cover. But that was intended for my 95+ opti convo and now i have no plans for an opti, so is the 95+ stock timing chain/cover still ok to use or should i just a stock 94 one?
What is everything i'll need?
This is what i got quoted from a sponsor here, though maybe im thinking its cheaper threw Jason...
"For a basic heads cam swap set, you'd need head gaskets(Impala), intake gaskets, coolant tube seals, front timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, head bolts, header gaskets, egr tube gaskets, GMS (General Motors sealant). Maybe a water pump drive seal, opti seal, and crank seal, depending on the mileage of the motor and the condition of the seals in your timing cover.
For the basic set, you'd be looking at $129.75. For the 3 timing cover seals, add on $19.00. ""
Any input would be great. Thanks guys..

That's sounds like everything, unless you uncover something unusual as you take it apart. I know I'm in the minority here, but I think it's more import to support a site sponsor than save $3 or so on a gasket set. Just my humble opinion, though.

Fpp-1406 felpro exhaust gasket $15.95 Summit
Fpp-1284 felpro intake gasket $19.75 Summit
Fel-tcs45956 felpro timing set gaskets $13.39 Summit
impala headgaskets were $36.xx at my local dealership
had the PN to the impy headsgaskets wrote down somewhere but now i can't find it
timing set gaskets including wp, timing cover, and the seals that are in the timing cover
all i can think of right now...
edit: If you can get a better/aftermarket timingchain... esp. if you plan on turning it.
i reused my stock valvecover gaskets twice... msot of time you can reuse them.

Get a GOOD thread sealer because the bolts go through the water-jacket.
Some people make the mistake of using straight locktite. This will be a fatal error for your motor.
I know 2 guys in the last year that spun a bearing because coolant leaked into the oil from the head bolts.
