Talking Which one is best and more reliable? LT4-blower-or nitrous

Which one is actually more reliable? The LT4 heads, Lt4 intake, and the LT4 hot cam OR a blower OR nitrous. These are going on a '93 auto equipped Z28. Any help would greatly unmistify things. Thanks

lt4 stuff definetly in terms of reliability. Blower and nitrous are a toss up in terms of power but blower will take your motor out sooner.

The na route will be the best. Our cars and nitrous work well, how much are you talking? Most basic kits are so far away from considered safe. There are many other items you need to buy along with the kit. The blower, well if your asking this question then you don't know that 10.5.1 compression is going to kill your motor. So a rebuild and a blower setup will ring you up 6-7k. My advice-Llyod Elliot or L.E. around here, he ports lt1 heads and does a very good job. The packages he offers will suit your needs for more power. For the price of the LT4 setup you will get much better gains going with him.

The LT4 heads/intake/cam, but this will also not provide the power gains of a blower or nitrous.

I did the LT4 conversion, and that thing is reliable. It see's alot of track time, and I drive it 40 miles everyday. Oh, yeah the car still gets around 22 MPG

Have you considered going with the cam and then adding nitrous?

I am leaning toward the LT4 mods because I can get them on the cheap from a freind who ran out of money. They are all new. As for how much nitrous, around a 125-150 shot. Oh yeah, if I go with the LT4, what stall converter? This is my first Z28 build and I want to do it right the first time. There are a lot of mustangs around (5 Saleens included) who I have wooped up on in stock mode but they are catching up quick. I only live about 6 miles from my local 1/8th mile and have a blast. You guys rock!! BRING BACK THE CAMARO!!!

If you want to do it right the first time don't waste your money on the LT4 Kit, and get a real heads and cam package. Unless you don't want a lot out of your car and will be happy just knowing that you have a "LT4" type motor. Everybody that I know that goes with the LT4 Kit or some veriation of the kit are happy with it for about a month, and then they realise that they aren't getting what they wanted when they decided to go with the kit.

Do your self a favor and atleast go withe something like the LE1 package... or you could buy my motor. haha...

I agree with the others, if you are going to do a top end job on these cars, a heads/cam package from either Lloyd Elliott or Advanced Induction will get you much more of what you want for about the same price as the LT4 stuff.

Blower? You will join the group of people on here that have done motor rebuilds within a year. But it is lots of fun.

Nitrous? Fun, but why not just add that on top of a heads/cam package?

Re: Which one is best and more reliable? LT4-blower-or nitrous

from what Ive gotten from other members in my post lt4 setup cannot run any reasonable amount of boost and if I go turbo Ill have to add an injection setup. All for like 5lbs of boost safely. Id rather just inject Nitrous into my motor and be done with it (which ill hopefull have by the middle of the summer !!!!) IM gonna aim for 150 shot

Don't forget they have Saleens that are merely appearance packages, actually I think they are the most common Saleen Mustangs too. If this is the case, his story is very believable.
