old style 350 head gasket on an lt1?

What is the difference (other than a slight mismatch at the water jackets that i saw and maybe the gasket thickness) Is there anything major? The place i got the gaskets from gave me the gaskets, just wondering if they'd work

I run old style head gaskets on my combos...but I would just get the right gaskets.

Now I'm curious, why do you run the old-style gaskets?

Would these still allow for reverse flow cooling

I run very thin head gaskets.

You have to open up certain areas of them to make the flow properly.

Is the top corners (for the water passage) the only place ya opened them up?

Thanks for the replys.

The gaskets are already on and the engine together is why i hate to take it back apart and put the correct gaskets on if the only diference is the holes i cut out.

That is all I ever done is the holes for the coolant flow.

Never had a problem.

Does this mean it is possible to simply modify a set of traditinal SBC copper head gaskets to fit?
