You could probably make some temporary gaskets out of something around the house.

The autoparts store is definetly not within walking distance, or I would be doing that.

I'm not too worried about doing gaskets in the parking lot.. shouldn't take too long (I've done them enough times now *doh*).

guess no brains needed to own a lt1 .too sad.
No need to be a ********. Why even post if you are going to say something like that?

I'm putting the old gaskets in (they're just ripped, but they should still seal fairly well). I'm not running header wrap, or anything flamable near the headers.

Yeah dude, call a taxi or take a bus. That's what they're there for. It will be a lot cheaper then an engine fire. It ain't worth the risk unless you just don't care about your car. If that's the case, then go for it.

BTW, you do realize that a 180* stat is stock, right? It's not a mod.

If you are putting the old gaskets in i wouldnt worry at all, as long as they arent in to bad a shape. You will be fine. Its not like the oil comletely fills up the valve colver and its going to come gushing out. I would just take a quick look at it when you get there to verify no major problems then drive home and change the gasket.

Maybe I shouldn't have listed at as a Mod, but I ran out of words for another category. People kept asking the question of which TStat I had, so I put it in the sig, since that is the reason I list all my parts in the sig.
