is it ok to use an impact for head bolts? (also what size are they?)

i cant remove the head bolts by hand, can i use an impact wrench and what size are the bolts

I would just be safe and buy a breaker bar. But thats just me.

I wouldn't recommend using a impact wrench...but that's just me...use a 1/2 inch socket to get them off....

Just me, I like to remove them by "cracking them loose". I give each a 1/2 turn working from the inside out, just opposite the torque-pattern to install. Then after they are all 1/2 turn loose, I'll turn them 1/2 again working from the inside out, then I'll take them out completely. My point is to relieve stress unformly (as much as possible) not to warp the head. It may be overkill but it hasn't gone wrong for me.

Breaker bar. A breaker bar can break any bolt... assuming you arne't a pansy. I use it to tear off my wheel lugs rather than spending all the time breaking out the air compressor/impact.

i'd never put an impact to anything aLuminum or cast iron...4 words... Disaster...Heartache..Replacement...Broke.
