My car is a 1995 Trans am she has 109000 miles, power windows, power door locks, t tops, leather , A4 with the 323 rearend and performance shift, ac is new as of july, window motors have been done, starter is new, plugs are new, opti has been done and i did the water pump just because even though the old was fine (done 2 years ago)...so a month ago the head gasket went on the drivers side rear piston ....i had it fixed...got her back she was great for about 4 days then on my way home i looked down at a light cause she felt weird and she had no oil pressure when under load it goes up ...start her up and she has plenty just goes down after warm up....there is a noise its much more noticable at a higher RPM ....once we thought bottom end my father thinks its on the top now....she is sitting in the driveway i have no clue what to do with her i owe 4200 on her i guess i just want any ideas i do love this car very much but due to money already spent on a head gasket repair my father would have to help me and he really isnt wanting to put more money in her only for her to break again well it depends on how much really ....here are a few pics of my pretty girl

when you say no oil pressure, do you mean zero? Also, you say it goes up with acceleration.... what does it read exactly. unfortunately it sounds like some probably got your motor dirty when they did the head gasket repair. Have you checked the oil? Is it clean and at the proper level? Do you have any leaks?
Re: ok i have posted about this but i was told it would be better to ask the lt1 lovers
no oil presure means its in the red zone ....goes up to the first white line under load.....when she starts its fine just as she gets warm it drops.....no leaks oil is fine

you said you looked down at a light. what light? what was weird about the way it was acting? what kind of noise did it make? slick ride, i hope it is nothing serious.
Re: ok i have posted about this but i was told it would be better to ask the lt1 lovers
I hope that when the head job was done a lot of gasket material or other debris did not find its way down into the oil pan. I have seen this on too many engines here lately. More then I care to have seen. Sometimes garages get in a hurry and things get over looked. If this material got in the oil it then plugs up the oil screen on the pump. This can cause just what you are describing. You really need someone to flush the engine with a good engine flush. See if this improves or changes anything. If so, I would recommend dropping the oil pan and cleaning the oil pick up screen and pump. Clean out the pan and re-install. Good luck.
By the way, nice ride.

I had a head gasket go on my old 95Z. A day or 2 later, started not running right and oil pressure dropped. Some of the bearings (upper & lower) got scored because of the contamination of AntiFreeze in the oil. Sorry to say, but it may not be good. Did they ever figure out WHY the head gasket went to begin with? Was the Catalytic Converter clogged?
I just replaced the motor in my 95 Formula......you looking at probally more then what you owe on the car to get a decent motor installed. BTW, nice looking car!

nice car, I would not be affraid to stick $5k in it for a rebuilt enging, know why? for $5k your not going to find a car that nice, your talking beater high milage cars for $5k. And even after spending $5k on a beater, a month later the tranny or engine could go out on you and your back at square 1.
there are a couple good guys on here selling rebuilt engines, like golen.

I'm afraid to say it sounds like bearing contamination by the coolant water/oil/rpm = bad
Sounds like a goner to me, rebuild time IMO. But it can't hurt to diagnose the pump area first, but the noise and lack of oil pressure is what concerns me.

Anyway you can find a decent low mileage shortblock for cheap and have a shop put it together for you for under 2 grand. Or have the bearings, rings, and fasteners replaced in the stock shortblock for about the same price.

You could also find a lower mileage ready to drop in LT1 or longblock for less than $1k if you just need to get her back on the road and not worried about "ultimate" performance.

ok .it was strongly recomended to me by someone to get the oil pan dropped to make sure the oil screen isnt clogged cause he doesnt and would be surprised if its the bottom end gone ....he saw the car getting fixed.....he thinks she is to nice just to toss away so he thinks i should do this to make sure it isnt something so simple ....actually i think a few people on here suggested it so maybe i should try
Re: ok i have posted about this but i was told it would be better to ask the lt1 lovers
If its making a metal on metal noise as well as having no oil pressure, then ya some bearings got damaged. If just the oil pressure is low then you could just flush out the oil or clean the screen.
Re: ok i have posted about this but i was told it would be better to ask the lt1 lovers
Ok. It sounds like you wiped some bearings. May be crank or cam. Being as oil pressure is produced from the bearing clearances I would definatly say you have some issues there. Now the Oil Pump is powered by suction from the top end and it is possible I guess that you got something (gasket) in there and it clogged your screen but I highly doubt it. Anyways, unfortunatly it sounds like the damage is already done.
