what is the best carrier i should run in a stock 10 bolt housing?

picked up a rear from a 2000 t/a and i am going to totally go thru it and replace everything i possibly can, and also have the complete housing powdercoated.....

Why throw all this money into a 10-bolt though? How much is this going to cost you for the parts, powder coating and assembly?

I have gone through this over and over and over.

When I purchased my 95 Z-28 from my friend he mentioned somthing about the differential being bad. I didn't get the one wheel peel much but somewhat (one tire worn a lot more too) So I started thinking of solutions.

I then bent and axle and decided it was time to get the job done. To get two high performance axles it is $300 then a high performance series 3 Carrier is $300-$500. That is $800. NOw it is time for the gears and install kit. Another $300. Then the install. $150. That puts you up over $1000 and probably closer to $1300 or so even if you buy all your parts at absolute bottom prices. Add a T/A Girdle? $150.00

If you do the math is is cheaper to get a ford 9 inch housing complete with axles and all the goodies. (most can be made to accomodate traction control too!) rather then have your flimsy never see upwards of 400 RWHP 10 bolt setup.

Since I am not planning on power adders I found a deal for $450 for a series 3 replacement posi unit, 3.73 gears and bearings, one oem new axle and a T/A cover.
Thank you tbyrne

Paint Over Rust, its a great product, tough as nails, comes in like Flat Black, Gloss Black, Silver, and Grey... I'm using it when I rebuild my 10 bolt.
