man oh man, the luck i have, anyways to make a long story short, im moving this sunday, go out cruising one last time with a friend in my z, thought i would treat the z nice tonight, so i cleaned the MAF and got some fuel injector cleaner, only brought 15$ with me enough for 7 gallons of gas, so i said what the hell used the injector cleaner and about 1 hour later i just pretty much dies on me, like a huge gigantic backfire, sounded like a gun shot, had just enough power to pull it off the road and park it, my question is if i only filled up my car which was pretty much on empty with 7 gallons of gas and used my injector cleaner would that cause it to run soooo $hitty? i added about 4 gallons of gas after that and it kinda seemed to even out a little, but still backfires and sputters like crazy, but am i on the right track, should i just put in a few more gallons of lower octaine gas and see if that helps or what? just did plugs and wires about a week ago, but they all seemed to be in the right places, anyone have this happen to them, sorry for this being soo damn long i just have to fix this before sunday cause im moving

Cleaned the MAF?? Did you make sure you didnt disturb any of those little wires inside?? If you touched them, they could be out of whack, and you car will run horrible. Find a friend and swap real quick (takes 5 min.) and see if that helps. Also the cleaner could have done something. Worth a try.

i dont see how injector cleaner or anything else you did to the car that night coulda caused it to die like that.
