Ok guys, i really need your help/advice on this one...

i blew my tranny and converter... so i called gm and got a quote for how much for a new 700r4 and converter... and they said 1,6xx.... which i've heard is pretty good... however i heard... i can get a performance tranny out of summit or something for just just a hundred or 2 or so more which will handle higher horsepower... and last alot longer.... AND im gonna need this anyway for future bolt-on power...

so what i need to know is...

what tranny should i get and from where? it has to be within 300 dollars of the stock price (1,6xx for tranny and converter) and i'd prefer it to be as close to my 700r4 as possible...

please help me.... im still driving this thing around and i need it badly and i know its gonna blow soon... so i have to get this done but im totally lost... ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
