oil pump drive gear?

oil pump drive gear?
Is there any reason why I can't use a standard SBC distributor gear in place of the stock oil pump drive gear? My brother and I were comparing them on Sunday, and they look identical.

yeah that's what I'm talking about, the gear. I'm just gonna use an SBC drive gear. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something subtle. I occasionally do that. Thanks Shoebox
