Talking Is this oil pump any good

Since I am installing an LE1 H/C package I have been bitten by the(since i'm here)bug. I need to know if anyone has any experience with this oil pump part# at summitracing SES-3-60-08-002. I have done several searches and seen a lot of posts on oil pumps but nothing on this one. I like it because it has the pickup welded on already. Thanks in advance for your comments.

i would not really call it "since i am here" because you wont be near pulling the pan

but i would recommend the melling select with the white spring from gm
i have around 40psi at idle and a little over 70 off-idle

The "since I am here" is not about location it refers to the fact of the car is being worked on so I may as well go ahead and do some of the other things I want done such as SFC's, motor mounts, whatever. I already have all of these parts so why not do it all at once. Anyway could I use the white spring with this setup?

You don't need a high pressure pump, and especially not a high volume pump with a stock bottom end. The oil clearances stock are tight enough that the pressures are too high with the 55a pumps. 40 at idle and 70 just off idle is too high.

That high volume pump you listed will suck your pan dry.

No matter what pump you get it needs to be taken apart and checked out, so a standard M55 will be just fine for your application.
