oil primeing question

Ok , I have the drill attachment priming tool. When I run the drill and turn the pump I feel the pump pressurize and hear oil gurggeling. My question is should oil pump all the way up to the rockers .....Im not getting oil up that far. TIA

You probably will not get oil through the pushrods until the lifters are moving up and down.

Thanks...thats what I was thinking. The lifters sould be pressurized enough to make preload ajustments though,right?....at least get get them close before the engine goes in and then readjust once the engine is fired. Im tring to get as much doen as possible bfore droping this thing in. The rockers are 1.6 rollers.

There are springs in the lifters that keep them fully extended, so even if there is no oil in them, you should still be able to feel zero lash and adjust preload.
