Oil pressure severely high
My oil pressure is at 70-75 constantly.
I just got my oil changed about a month ago with Mobil One 5w-30, but I'm not positive if they changed the oil filter or not. I might have a clog? I thought I might also have an oil pump problem. I've suspected bad fuel injectors and spark plugs in my car and the alternator needs to be replaced but these arent really related to freakin the hell out of me when the oil goes up like that and doesnt go down. WHATS WRONG????? At start it goes up to 70 or so then doesnt come down till you turn it off.

If it never changes from the time you turn it on 'till the time you turn it off, your sensor is broken or not connected or the wire to the sensor is broken. When the circuit is open, it will peg the gauge.
I have periodic problems with my Z that kinda scare me. Like today for instance that oil pressure went down to 20psi idle and 60-70 while on the highway. Also on the highway the check engine light came on for about 30 seconds then turned off. My ABS light is always on too so I don't know if i have a bad computer or what. There is a chip in my car and I almost think that whoever put it on messed up the computer when they did it. I am going to take my car to a dealership and see if they can "GM Certify" it like they do for used cars to check for any major problems.

might be wrong
sounds like a crappy guage/sender to me
if your oil pressure is too high, your bypass will open up and lower pressure

The higher the resistance, the higher the reading. Low resistance (like a ground) would result in low pressure readings.Gauges in older cars usually operate like you said.

Yep, your wrong.

As a matter of fact, they do. I should have clarified, when I said "gauges", I was referring to oil pressure gauges (since that was what the thread was about).

:::jumps up to slap shoebox a high five. shoebox just sits there in awe as trey has no hand to slap a highfive to and falls over on his face and spills his light beer
