Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Figured out why my oil pressure guage would not move off of 17-20 psi at idle or upon acceleration. I cracked my oil pressure sending unit, bought a new one at O'reillys for $23. This doesn't look like a 3 minute swap because of the location. Any help or tips on replacing this would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Get an oil pressure sensor socket and appropriate length extension. Aim toward the sensor, along the firewall, from the direction of the brake booster.

If you didn't allready go back to the parts store and find a GM/Chrysler oil sending unit socket...there's no way you're gunna get it off without one. Then get yourself some extensions and swivel attachment for your socket wrench

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit

I got broke mine when the motor was out of the car. I didn't feel like buying the socket for 1 time use so vise grips did the trick. Lucky me. Was worried I was going to break it off putting the motor back in, though.
