Angry Oil pressure problem

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this? I have a '94 Camaro Z28 with the LT1 motor. My oil pressure measures between 40 & 45 psi while driving but drops to just below 20 psi when at idle. I just had the car in the shop where we replaced the water pump and a couple of sensors. The technician drove it after the install and said my oil pressure was functioning normally. Is ti just me or does this much fluctuation seem excessive? What should it read?

I'd say its normal. If it bugs you too much, just put some thicker oil in it, would probably make it hold higher pressure at idle.

Try hooking up a different oil pressure gauge. The stock gauge is pretty crappy.
