oil pressure issue

I am having very very low oil pressure at idle. I bought the car about 2 months ago and when I first got it was fine but now as I drive it more the oil pressure is dropping at idle to the point where i had to put engine honey in it to pull it back up it went down to 0 at idle the other day but when i rev motor jumps way back up so i don't think its the pump more thinking cam bearings. so i am planning engine rebuild but wondering can cam bearings be replaced in car? not thinking they can.

Re: oil pressure issue

You cannot replace all cam bearings in the car. I would try to verify your pressure with a mechanical gauge. Your o/p sensor might just be bad.

Re: oil pressure issue

I had the same problem with my 94 Z. Replaced the AC Delco oil filter with a K&N. The problem went away and has been fine ever since. The AC filter probably collapsed.
