oil pressure gauge or pump broken.......

i noticed my ses light came on the other night and didn't know why. i pulled to the side of the freeway and shut off the car. waited for a minute and started it again. the ses light went away. today i noticed that the oil pressure gauge only got as high as the quarter mark and didn't move at all, no matter how fast i was going. whats up with that? is something broken, how hard is this to fix, anyone else have this problem?

Try removing the connector to the oil pressure sensor and turning the key ON. The gauge should read high. If it does, the problem could be the sensor or you really have low oil pressure.

Since you have a 1993, the sensor is located on the side of the block, just above the oil filter.
