Oil pressure on cold start use to be 75psi.. Now its 60psi. Any ideas? White Spring

Did a cold start up and it went up to 60psi... It use to go to 75psi.. I also unplugged the sensor to see if the gauge would shoot staight up and it did. Perhaps the gauge is reading incorrectly??

This is after my car almost stalling and dying after being run hard.. And when it went to idle at one point oil pressure went to 0. With the cold start up i changed the oil weight ot 10W40 from 10W30

The pick up is welded on. and I have a high pressure white spring too.. Brand new oil pump with 600 miles on it.

yeah i am using the stock gauge...
Could it be that its a brand new engine and after getting on it hard it ground away some of the rings edges.. so now it holds less pressure because it ground away some of the rings. I found some metal on my oil drain plug but after filtering it out with a coffee filter it looked normal for a new engine.

My idle still sucks though.. Idle sucking happened same time oil pressure was looking alittle low and dropping to 0 at that 1 point.

Who cares? Both are well above what it SHOULD have, and you can't tell without a decent gauge anyway.

This makes a difference, as I learned tonight. K&N oil filters only, for me.

k&n + 80 psi = oil on the ground and stop the car.

My pressure went up slightly with the K&N over the NAPA filter, but not to 80 psi, and there's no oil on the ground.

i think the filter can effect the psi a little, not sure about 15 though. was the purelator an o-ring style filter, or did it have the big thick rubber seal?

I have been running NAPA Gold filters on mine, and this last oil change I used a Fram because that's what I was able to get my hands on. Pressure dropped 5-7 PSI across the board with the FRAM, and I'm using an AutoMeter gauge. Do the Fram's filter better(I doubt it), or are they just more restrictive?
