Just because it will work with the LT1 motor doesn't mean it will work with the 4th gen car...

So this won't fit

and the pick up listed above is for the pump I listed? 3/4 inch tube right? sorry guy's I already got I wrong set up,

The Milodon site and summit list 2 pick ups for that pan, the 18311 and 18301, I take it one is 5/8 the other is 3/4 but neither site has the sizes

I have no idea. I'm just saying that the fact that it will work with a one piece rear main seal doesn't tell the whole story.

The reason Canton has got the market by the ***** is because their oil pan fits the 4th gen frame with no modification. It is common knowledge that some Canton pans do not work with certain header combinations and the oil level sensor. However, people are still shelling out the ~300 bucks for this POS Canton pan that leaks (myself included ). Its not because of the great quality. Its because this is the single current 4th gen oilpan.

Think someone else has wondered about a cheaper 4th gen oil pan before?

Yes .

With all this in mind, there might be something out there that fits better AND costs less dinero.

Ok I though ATLJAR said he had one and it was tight but it fit, and I could care less about my oil level sensor and it sticks half the time anyway

Ok so this will work with my stock windage tray or do I need a new one of those too? Also where did you get the part number for that pickup? I can't find anywhere that says what diameter they are just that they will work with that pan. Is there anything else I need??Crank scraper? I saw a plate that went on the oil pump to keep the oil from creeping up the back of the pan, are these needed?

Ok I feel like a tard now, I have been looking at that for 2 days and didn't see the pump #'s, what do you think about a scraper and the pan baffle that goes between the pump and rear main?

sorry, your windage tray from the stock pan wont work with the new pan.

you will have to get one for the new pan. you should go ahead and get the crank scraper it works good. I did not buy or use a oil pump sheild.

p.s where did you get the new poly mounts?

p.s where did you get the new poly mounts?

Autozone theye have about 5,00 miles on them, I did them when I did my headers, they are the energy suspension ones. The oil pump baffle seemed kind strange to me, it sits between the oil pump nad the rear main, It would seem that if I had oil up that far on a 7qt pan that there would be none in the bottom, just seems really high and too late to me. I will get the crank scraper though, thanks for your help
