Oil pans Do traditional SBC pans fit?

I have been doing lots of searching this morning. My problem is that I am doing an eagle 357 setup with h beams and know the stock tray/pan will not fit. I would love to go with an oversized pan with the fancy features, but Canton is a bit pricey.

Was looking at this. Kevko oil pan

Re: Oil pans Do traditional SBC pans fit?

It has to be made for a 1 piece seal i have one for sale its a hamburg 1 piece rear seal its on my 396 right now but i plan to switch to a canton soon

$175 i am thinking i will sell it for

edit this pan has the same crank scraper 7 qt with trap doors and has been very good for me

the one thing it lacks is the oil level sender provision and i just have it unhooked but canton and steffs i belive only make pans with them

Get me a link to that, I will be needing one "soon". Not high priority on my list, but I will need it eventually so might as well check into it.

Rear Main Seal Style: 1-piece
Sump Style: Wet
Oil Pan Capacity: 7 quarts
Oil Pan Depth (in): 8.000
Oil Pan Material: Steel
Oil Pan Finish: Red painted
Sump Location: Rear
Baffled: Yes
Kicked Out: No
Stroker Clearanced: Yes
Maximum Stroke with OE Rod: 4.000 in.
Dipstick Provision: Yes
Dipstick Location: Passenger side

These oil pans from Hamburger have the features you want in an oil pan. They feature an extra-heavy .055 in. thick steel core and a magnetic drain plug, along with trap door baffles to keep oil at the pickup in even the most severe conditions. These pans have an expanded metal directional windage screen and crankshaft scraper, for maximum oil control and more horsepower. Their increased oil capacity improves bearing life and engine durability. These pans will accept a stock GM starter, and come in a red painted finish. So don't let uncontrolled oil rob your engine of horsepower

I am trying to remember what the max depth should be, probably somewhere around 8-8 1/4". Also you are going to want to find out the lenghth of the sump, i know there are some pans out there that just won't clear the stock K member but would be fine for a tubular one.

Re: Oil pans Do traditional SBC pans fit?

if you dont want to spend a ton get a milodon mil-30902 for $153.95 or moroso mor-20205 $169.88 at summit. if you not concerned about the cash get a canton, hamburger's, tpis or such. when it comes down to it, if your running a large stroke or h-beams your probably gonna have to clearance any pan you get so the stock could work for you just as well as any other. with my 383 stroker i could have gotten a stock pan to fit with a bit of clearancing, i still had to clearance the milodon pan slightly though.

If you keep the stocker i promise problems with windage and oil slosh that will eat horsepower
