oil pan bolt question

im not very comfortable with the terminology but I will do my best to try and explain this;

i attached my oil pump a few minutes ago, then I went to attach that flat pan that goes inside the oil pan. there are three bolts that are extremely long and apparently go into the bearing? there are already bolts in my bearings right now, so I am guessing just take these out and put the new ones in? it says to torque them to 30ftlb's, is that correct or should it be more? how do i torque them like that if they are so long?

Re: oil pan bolt question

The 30 lb. ft. is for the nuts. The studs must be torqued to 77 lb. ft. Use a deep, 6 point socket.
You have been running without a windage tray (the flat pan)?
