oil Pan

oil Pan

I know this is a dumb question just need to know if you need to take the cross bar off to take off the oil pan

The "cross bar" that you speak of is actually the k-member - the engine and mounts are bolted to it. You can't just take it off.

Anyway, you have to unbolt the motor from the mounts and jack it up until you get the necessary clearance to remove the pan.

Im trying to remove my oil pan too, but found that it was nearly impossible to get a socket or wrench around the bolt head on the drivers side mount.. since there seems to be a bolt right next to it. Anyone have any tips on how to remove that mount?

Thats what i figured and yes i did know that it was called a k member but i was in a hury and couldnt think of the name But thanks
