oil light sensor

i've got a 94 and the low oil light has been on all year, there's plenty of oil, it's on most of the time but goes off occaisonally.

what triggers the low oil light? is it a seperate sensor? if so where exactly is it located? when i did my clutch i found a harness with no home, someone had jumped the wires, i'm wondering if they bypassed the low oil light, it's not the skp shift or the reverse silinoid, those i disconnected

Most of the sensr plugs on the car are the same. This one is on the bottom of the oil pan, and if you pull the sensor you will lose your oil. But if your plug is missing, just go to the junkyard and take a bunch of them, one will fit. Then just solder the wires together

Well, it is good to have, but is marginally a "needed item", since most cars don't have one. If mine was already bypassed, I am not sure I would go to the trouble to hook it up. No problem in hooking it back up, though. Just a little more insurance.
