Oil level sensor.....( Canton Oil Pans )

Hey guys got a question about this sensor on the Canton Pan. Its the stock sensor. The directions say that upon installing the pan to put 6 quarts in and check the level...that will be the new full level for the pan. When I did, it barely hit the A on the ADD line. Whatever. After about 2k the low oil level light went on. I added 1/2 quart and it went off.

So heres my question does it not matter what the sensor says?? I figure low oil level is still a low oil level? Should I add more even the directions say its fine?

Thanks .....

My level was on the first hole on the dipstick..I ended up splicing the sensor wires together...

Cut it off and weld it up. Thats what I had to do to clear my headers. BTW Canton sucks :D

haha I've seen your opinion about that...in...oh...every Canton thread I found in my search ;)

Milodon has a pan?

The oil level is going to be lower on the dipstick, I believe like stated earlier, "to the bottom hole" The oil light should be off.

lets think about this for a sec...the location or depth of the dipstick never changed, just the size and shape of the oil pan.....so shouldnt you still fill you pan till the dipstick says its full....i mean it only makes sense

Milodon has a pan that works better and has more clearance width wise. It is about 3/4" longer height wise.

Maybe they hate you too! :) hehe j/k

I hear talk about a Milodon pan, but I see no part #'s or info?

Also, RE: Dipstick length. I believe the oil level only has to be high enough to cover the pickup completely submerged during all actions of the car, no need to OVER fill it, correct?
