oil leak after changing water pump?
oil leak after changing water pump?
so i changed my waterpump a few days ago....and now there is a weird oil leak coming from the front of the motor...
the opti has started acting up too, so i figure i will just replace it, but now there is this strange oil leak. anybody know what it could be? i'm thinking it might be the seal behind the opti, and now it may be leaking into the opti itself, causing the opti issues.
this is driving me crazy, if anyone knows, please let me know,
thanks in advance.

Just a thought....Did you by chance remove the water pump drive coupler at one point, and then install it back on the wrong way?......(just incase you weren't aware)the grooved end of the coupler is meant to go "in" tword the engine block......When you have it off, it's also a good idea to make sure that the water pump connecting coupler (that iv'e been talking about here) is cleaned out inside, making sure that there's no old broken (sometimes hard) pieces of O-rings inside it...once it's good and clean, lubricate the inside with some engine oil or black greese before you put it back on with your NEW waterpump O-rings....also make sure that none are missing.............joe
