Does the oil filter adapter for the cars with the oil cooler screw to the block. I see the two holes that a normal adapter would use but I have threds on the inside of the hollow bolt. There are no male end threds on the block. What's the deal?

 

The adapter that bolts to the block is a standard adapter but the adapter bolts are special bolts that have unthreaded studs on the end of them that line up the oil cooler unit.....the oil cooler screws to the standard adapter like an oil filter would.
