Oil Cooler Removal

Well, I have heard all the stories about oil coolers plugging up and destroying motors.

What all do I need to completely remove the oil cooler assembly?

All you will need is the by-pass tube for the cooling system and some bolts from a hardware store in order for the filter adapter to be replaced onto the block. Other than that I dont think you will need anything else besides time.

Just went out and took a quick glance at it from the top of the motor. So i'll just need a hose from the waterpump to the radiator.

I assume taht the cooler part is sandwiched between the block and the filter?

And i cant see it really being effective if hot coolant is going through it?
