oil amount..

how much oil is the suggested amount on a 95 z28?

i put in 4 quarts and it still says add, on a new filter too...

5 quarts, maybe 5 and a 1/4 depending on the filter you use. It should say in your owners manual.

it says the crankcase capacity is 4.5 quarts in my manual but it doesnt tell me the recomended amount

Fill it 'til the dipstick says it's full. Check it again after you've run the engine, since some may get sucked into the filter...

i think 5 should be plenty, what does everyone have to put ion theirs?

Why did you put 4 when the crankcase alone takes 4.5?

5 quarts is the proper amount...for the LT1 and every other small block chevy besides the LS1, i managed a quick lube for a couple years and 5 quarts is 99% perfect with the factory sized oil filter
