Unhappy Ohhh the Humanity

Well I was in the Process of Installing my exhaust and interior on my car that I just had painted and a frame restoration. I was looking at my engine and noticed a freeze plug was missing this engine had ZERO miles since I had it stroked (383) It just had distilled water because it's in heated storage, It must have froze some time, HORRIBLE 5000 Bucks to have this engine built I was soooo close to getting done talk about 2 steps foreward 100 steps back So I guess I'm now hunting for an LT1 Block

I agree, the plugs are supposed to pop out like that so your block doesn't get damaged in the case of a freeze. Also is your car stored somewhere and you are paying for heated storage or is it in your garage? If you are paying to have it in heated storage and your motor is damaged because it wasn't heated allowing it to freeze you should be entitled to a settlement for at least some of the damages if not all. Just my 0.02.

Re: Ohhh the Humanity

unfortunately their agreement states clearly that that's not the case and there is a 4 inch crack on the passenger side of the block, My engine shop said they may be able to fix it, , I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed
