"off brand" tires? other sizes can I use?

Just curious...i'm looking at a bunch of different tires, and seeing some that I either hae never heard of, or hardly hear of. Some of the brands are something like:

Merit Tires
SUMITOMO
VENTUS
Hankook
Visa
Aurora

I'm sure their are a lot more, but has anyone ever used these as a daily driven tire? Just curious because I don't hear any type of reviews for them.

Also, what is the largest tire size I can use on the stock salad shooters?

BF Goodrich makes an "S" rated (112 mph) 265/50/16 which is 1 inch taller than stock and about an inch wider.
Probably gonna need them with my 6 psi powerdyne.

I had these on my old car 1990 toyota celica. They were 19 dollars a tire, LOL, all 4 cost more than ONE tire I have on the rear of my Formula. I honestly couldn't really complain, I eventually had a blowout because I ran them all the way flat.
