What do i need to do to get it work right and what simple things can i do to make it work better?

Do the maf wires need to be extended, I went to install the box and noticed wires were getting pulled really tight, do I just cut them and add additional wire or can i get some sort of extension?

Is there suppose to be rubber piece between the maf and the airbox, if so what could i use to replace it?
