OEM Lifters for LE2 and Trickflow Heads?
A shop is putting together a 383 VRE shortblock with LE ported Trickflow heads and an LE2 cam. The question has already been posed to me by the shop owner, "what lifters will I use for this setup?" I know everyone will say go with Morel, but with that price tag, I'm looking for more reasonable alternatives. I see that people with LE3 stock ported heads are using OEM lifters. Is it safe enough for me to use the OEM lifters as well?

Re: OEM Lifters for LE2 and Trickflow Heads?
I am running oem with a gm847 6800rpm and quite a bit of seat pressure. (I think @ 380# open) and so far no problems.
I feel that if I were goin to be cheap on a valvetrain component, that would be the one. In most cases if you destroy one it will just run like crap until you replace it. But a few people on here have spun them in the bore and really trashed some blocks.
Your call.

Yea I just spoke with both Lloyd and Bret about this very topic for my new bottom end......the OEM lifters are fine.....and really the "only" step up "worth" taking is the Morels...There's really not much inbetween, just other "Near Identical" OEM types, Comp , Crane Ect...)
