odd question
odd question
i finally got my motor in after my head and cam swap, and now i am having wiring issues. I went to fire her up for the first time, and i got dash lights, but no lights in the rest of the interior. With the key in the on posistion, i didnt have headlights or brake lights, or dome lights. Needless to say, it wouldn't turn over. I can hear a very fast, repeated click, click, click coming from somewhere in the dash. It's not the computer, i completely pulled out the computer and the clicking is still there. Also, the check gauges and a few other dash lights blink in harmony with the fast clicking. As anyone ever heard of anything like this. I do have an aftermarket stereo, but i have never had issues with disconnecting the battery, and having the alarm system set. The battery has been disconnected for 3 weeks at a time, and never had a problem before.
let me know any thoughts you may have.

A bad connection. You're not getting enough current. You probably have a disconnected ground strap or you put it in the wrong place. Check the connections at the frame and the engine. Clean the positive cluster on the passenger fender too. Have the battery tested under load if you still have the problem.
Where does the ground strap for the coil go? On the block, or on the body?? That was the one thing that i couldnt remember and i put on the block where I seemed ot remember where it went. When i get home from work, i am gonna tear into her a little bit more. I'm pissed, i am soo close to firing her up!!
