I put some prestone octane booster in my car yesterday and filled up the tank with 93 octane premium gas. Well today after driving around for awhile i notice the service engine soon light is on. Will octane booster cause that light to come on? or could it be something else?
BTW-ignore my sig, my car is all stock......i have the mods listed in mods part, but will install them tomorrow probably.

get the car scanned and get the codes 1st....autozone does it for free

 

i think i should start first off by saying you are wasting your money on that octane booster if you are already using 93 octane gasoline.... especially so for a stock car.

and the answer to your question is...impossible. octane booster wont do anything for your car good or bad unless you are using a low grade fuel and about 10 cans of octane booster.

 

If you want octane booster just go buy a gallon of toulene. That works right brad god what a waste of money.

 

Some of them can have adverse effects on fuel lines and o rings over time, but if you dont use it on a regular basis I dought is caused your problem. Get it scanned.
