OBDI & Hooker Longtubes
OBDI & Hooker Longtubes
I have done a lot of searching and can't find a straight answer. I am buying a used set of Hooker Longtubes (Taner's).
Anyway, the EGR and A.I.R. are going away - it is my understanding that no additional programming is required and no codes will be thrown on an OBDI car. The cat is obviously going as well....
It is to my understanding that I do not need new O2 sensors or simulators, but that I just need an extension. I believe I read somewhere that the driver O2 sensor will reach with the longtubes but the passenger side does need an extension.
Can anyone clear this up? Thanks!

Re: OBDI & Hooker Longtubes
If the O2 bungs are in the headers, you are correct. Mine ended up in the collector and I needed 2 extensions.

When you fire the things up, leave the O2's out and run it for a while. Then let it cool down and install them.

Re: OBDI & Hooker Longtubes
It may throw a code but it will not throw a ses light if that is what you are woried about, although it did throw the ses light when i disconnected the egr selonoid so i left it plugged in untill i had it programed out.
Re: OBDI & Hooker Longtubes
Alright, thanks guys! Seems like I should be ok. I am fine with it throwing a code, but I really don't want it to throw the SES light incase there is something else that is actually wrong.
