OBDI headers on OBDII car

I was wondering if I could put a set of headers for a 94-95 car on my 96 LT1. I know that I would have to get 02 sims, but was going to gut my cat's and do that anyway. Are the lines that screw into the manifolds on the top the same, or are they different. Will the Y-pipe fit under the car, or is there a difference at all other than the cats. If anyone knows please let me know. It would be a lot cheaper to go with headers from an OBDI rather then OBDII. also, emissions is not a concern.

AS far as I know the only difference was the extra cat and the two O2's in the back, which can be edited out, other than that it should all fit the same.

Cool, that will save a lot of money, and get better flow with the cats gone.

Re: OBDI headers on OBDII car

You will not be able to use the stock cats for the reason that the '94-'95 headers on the drivers side are too long. Remember that on the stock manifolds, the drivers side cat is right after the manifold. You can convert to a single cat like I did and just have one cat right after the y-pipe, or just have an offroad pipe. Also, since the y-pipe doesn't come back far enough, you will need an "S-pipe" which is just what it sounds like. It is S shaped and connects your cat or offroad pipe to your catback. They can be found pretty cheaply. The AIR hookups may need an adapter. I went to Sears Hardware and found the correct adapter. Just take one of your headers and one of the air diverter valves and find the size as I really don't remember what it was. EGR should just hook right up with maybe some bending of the EGR tube. Hope this helps!

Yes it does, I guess it is a good thing I was thinking about doing this because I went to get my SES light scanned today, and my Bank 1 02 is reading bad. I just replaced them but I guess the stock cat was messed up from the car running real rich for a while, so now I guess I am going to go ahead and do this to it, or maybe I will just weld in some pipe in place of my stock cats and get the fake sensor things from Summit for it right now to save some money for the time being.
