obd check

Alright, my car has been missfiring alot and will barely run now (10 mpg city/highway and wants to stall all the time on stock setup). I tried the paperclip trick on the obd connector to try and get the code to flash, but the check engine light wouldn't come on with the key in the on position. I thought the obd system was busted, but I know something is working because when I ground the connector the doors lock and unlock. If anyone has any idea of what is going on, please post back.

I assume from your screen name you have a 93?? If so, shorting pins A-B should work. 93 is the only year it will work. 94 and up requires a scanner.

also depending on the problem your car may not have thrown a code , my opti died all at 1x with no signs and it did not throw one code ( according to the dealer )
