ob1 cat removale

i have a 95 z28 with one cat.i have a flowmaster 40 ser with single in duel out and intake.can i take my cat out without throwing a code?and how will it sound with my exaust.i like loud.

OBDI systems don't check for cats, therefore it won't throw a code.

I had a 93 Z with no cat and flowmaster muffler, it sounded great. Removing the cat will make it louder for sure.

Dont take out the cat... just replace it with a high flow. That way it will still sound good but you wont have to deal with the smell and possible legal implications. I really wish I had left my cats.

took my cat off when I did my lt's love the sound, smell isn't that bad but I do sweat a little more every time a cop is behind me

Take your y-pipe and cat off. Gut the cat with a pry bar or something and place it back on. Don't put any scratches or anything on the cat. I did mine that way and I love the sound. Also I don't sweet it when a cop gets behind me because looking up under my car everything looks stock and legal.

dont here test here for cats.i dont want a high flow cat cuz im doing it more to make the sound louder not flow more.my 94z had no cat with a borla muffler and i loved the sound.i never smelled anything.

I just welded a cat casing on my 3" exhaust so it looks like it is there haha I love the sound without a cat! Mine is very loud also

I hollowed out my stock cat for a year, it was loud and raspy, sounded "tinny". I have AS&M headers and a Flowmaster cat back. I put on a high flow Random Tech cat and it sounds much better, a little mellower, but much deeper.

Yeah mine sounds raspy until the exhuast gets warm then it goes away mostly

well im not worried about raspy cuz im going withg the slp catback soon lol i just like loud but i dont want a bad smell.ill see whats happens with it i guess.o i dont wanna hollow the cat cuz i heard it bilds pressure in the cat and make a wind sound like a whisleing.i have 120k do u think i will get sum extra power out of this also?
