O2s for Jet Hot LT
Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
a vette? no idea.
I don know that for OBDI cars, just use the two that are spec'd for your car, for OBDII, use the two front ones......
Edit: duh, just saw you dont want extensions....sorry

Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
Why pay for new O2s, then pay more for extensions?? I thought i read on here that the '00 vette O2s have enough wire and same connector so you don't need the extension.
Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
get used O2's, which is what you're gonna have to do anyways. O2 extensions arent that expensive, but if you're penny pinching, just make your own. I dont think the connector on the '00 vette O2's is the same as our flat connector on the '95
Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
:dunno: just use the ones you have now for a few weeks after your install. Let whatever coating that is on the headers burn off. Many people have had their 02's go bad right after headers, including me.....
Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
Aparently no one understands my question.
I heard that the '00 vette rear o2s had longer pigtails on them to eliminate the need for o2 extension. I don't wanna go pay 100 for new o2s, then 25 plus shipping for extensions. Just get the vette rears and be done with it. Kapish? The one's i have got about 100k on them. They are in need of replacement.
I was unaware that the coating could cause o2 malfunction. That kinda sux.

Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
In a couple weeks when you are ready give Jason Cromer a call....I just got mine for like 39 bux a piece.
It seems to be just the initial burn off or curing of whatever coating is on there. After a couple hundred miles go ahead with your new ones.

Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
you arent making any sense. you said earlier that you already have your used O2 sensors. used O2's cause most people to run lean, which is what we'd prefer anyways. why would you need to buy new O2's?
LS1's have a square style connector. pre-96 LT1's have the flat style connector. or, to make it easy, OBD1's use a flat connector and OBD2's use a square connector, which means you couldnt use the O2's from a vette...

Re: O2s for Jet Hot LT
You should just go Autozone (or any other store) and have them get the o2 sensors out for several different vehicles. Then pick a longer one with the same connector (if it exists). I think you may be right that certain year OBD2 cars might have used a connector like ours (flat) for the rear O2's. It is worth a shot. Let us know if you find one that works.
FWIW both of my O2 sensors died after a bout 100 miles on the new headers (jet hot coated). They were fairly new. I don't know for sure what caused it but I would try to use old sensors for a couple hundred miles to let the coating burn off, just to be safe.

Make your own extensions if you're that tight for money.
