O2 Sensor wire extention?

I put in my Jett Hott long tubes and now my wires arent long enough to make it to the sensor. Well,..they make it but it is streached tight and i cant leave it that way. Do they make an extention or do i have to splice the wires. Thanks

They make extentions.... you can get them from Thunder Racing or Tbyrne...

Or you can extend the harness'...

Yes thunderracing.com makes an extension for the front 02 sensors. whatever you do, dont splice them. the sensors are very sensitive and cant be spliced/re-attached without harming them.

True, but you can extend the vehicle harness with ZERO side effects...

Thunder has one of the best CS reputations around...

And from my experience they ship as fast if not faster than Summit...

How would it harm the sensors? It would cause a bad reading if the wires didnt get a good connection, but how is cutting and adding extentions with wire any different than pre made extentions with connectors?

As long as you use good wire and make good crimps, it will register 100% accurate, and it wont harm the sensor.

It has something to do with some other reading, but i thought it was bs so i extended them anyways, and my car runs fine

Not completely so.
The sensors draw reference air through the factory wiring, so disturbing the wiring harness on the sensor itself, is not recommended. Modifying the sensor's harness may cause the sensor not to work properly/accurately.

YEh, i was told using butt connectors, or any connectors of this sort will screw with the resistance. I did not try it, but i know for sure soldering them works. Thats what I did and its reading great

A point of my post was that maintaining the integrity of the insulation is just as important as the wire inside it. IMO, soldering would be even more invasive than using butt connectors in this instance.
