Angry O2 sensor replacement

My 97 Z28 has a bad O2 sensor. Its the right rear one. Anyone have the part number for it? Also, who sells this critter at a reasonable price. Any suggestions on how to change it? Remember I'm mechanically impaired!

Re: O2 sensor replacement

I have the same problem with my 1997 Trans am the part number should be the same, but you can call any dealer to check. The part # i was told is 2531296. You can order it from Jason Cromer in FL for @$65 + shipping.

Re: O2 sensor replacement

Can anyone explain how O2 sims work?
I know the downstream heated O2's are more just to read the emissions of the car than to change the fuel mixture, but can you replace the front O2's with O2 sims???

My car has been running ritch for a while, and I cant exactly figure out why...my best guess is O2 sensors...but the cheapest I can find them is $40 each (for a 94 Z)

Re: O2 sensor replacement

You cannot sim the front O2 sensors. Sims are only for the post cat O2s on OBD-II cars.
