Re: o2 question

If its the pre-cat sensor, you can't "simulate" it.... the PCM needs the pre-cat sensors to control the engine's A/F ratio. If its the after-cat sensor, you can replace it with a simulator.

How are you "burning" it up? You mean the wires are burned? Or is the sensor itself failing in some way?

Re: o2 question

are your running an off road y-pipe or cats?

Have you checked your plugs to see if your running too lean?

Re: o2 question

I wonder if your cat is clogged, and is causing in increase in heat.

Well you can get some o2 exstenshions and have your shop weld a new o2 bung(s) farther down the pipe if it keeps it up (but it would interfear with your readings). But this don't sound right.

Re: o2 question

What is the EXACT trouble code? There are several codes for each sensor, some dealing with the heater element, some dealing with how fast the sensor switches, etc. If you give us the EXACT code, we might be able to help you. There is no code with the description "left 02 sesnor".... they all include more info than that.

Re: o2 question

see if you keep burning up that left o2 sensor, and its getting that code, Im going to trust the PCM and say your car is running to lean. It would really increase the heat going into the exhaust. Which could lead to this freak issue your having. now the issue is tracking down if this is a bad injector or a simple fix.
