Is there any way we can put this up as a sticky?? I just heard that some unlucky individual within the past 2 weeks was able to get in contact with Nick and was "sweet talked" into dropping off his block and $4k+ at Nicks place. It pisses me off that he has no time to get my and other peoples shiat that he owes worked out/refunded, but when it comes to taking someones money he has all the time in the world. Like I said is there any way to make this a sticky....I hate to see him keep doing this to other people.

Well, well....I just got call from another of Nicks "unsatisfied" customers.... so that makes 5 people in our "little club" and 1 soon to join (see my above post). I sat down and starting doing a little math...

Person 1: $12,500.00
Person 2: $11,500.00
Person 3: $ 3,000.00
Person 4: $ 4,000.00
Person 5: $ 4,500.00
Person 6: $ 4,500.00 (soon to be)

GRAND TOTAL = $40,000 !!!! That we have given him and we get the big FU in return

Im sure theres more people out there in the same situation as us that we dont know about.

Wow that sucks. Reminds me of the Henessey issue all over again. I hope everyone gets this worked out with NuTek.

I almost bought in on that stroker GP myself. At the time everyone was getting pissed when someone posted a "Who's NuTek and why should I send my money" comment (I belive the company just didn't even exist more than a few weeks until they posted a killer deal on stroker packages). Most people gave good feedback on that GP, but I havn't heard anything since the GMHTP piece they were in. (Great magazine BTW).

Good luck guys, keep us posted... maybe Nick will get this all worked out, I dunno.

BTW, have you seen Nick's new $40,000 GTO? very cool car. (just kidding guys )

Holy crap... read the Impalla SS thread above. Honestly, if anyone expects to get a dime back, they better start banging down some doors. I'd wager Nick's a stone's throw away from Chapter 7. Total random guess... but you can't have that much money floating around without signs of a real engine. "Moving in to a new shop" is another kicker...

Just fyi... once Bankrupcy is declared, I beleive creditors are paid in order of collections notice. Might want to check on state laws and such, but if you're at the end of the line expect nothing. The LAST thing I'd be doing at this point is looking for other people that are getting screwed... you can't do any more for them than you can for yourself. Better to get your lawsuit in and started before they do. Just MHO.

I had no idea this NuTek issue people mention from time to time was so bad. This isn't absent mindedness or part delays...

Sounds like the Hennessey deal. Once you get behind and don't have parts you need fresh income to complete outdated orders. It may sound crappy, but that's how you operate with no inventory and get yourself out of a mess. Only way to catch up though is to have enough profit on each part ordered, and work for free while the profits pay off the debt.

That $4k+ order just got you $4k+ closer to having parts for your engine. Again... start legal proceedings, and hold your breath. If he doesn't have any money, you can't get any back. (can't get blood from a stone yada yada yada).

Man, this stuff is a total nightmare for people placing orders online. Just gets scarry to buy items that arn't in your hands when you leave the room.

Not to be a hard-***, or wish you anything but the safe return of your stuff....but until you actually HAVE the motor in your possession, I'd worry.

Also...if you DO get that motor back this month, or any time before 2010, remember that just because he chose to take care of a walk-in customer, doesn't mean that he won't screw, or hasn't screwed over someone he never expects to have to deal with in his shop.

AHHHHHH yes the ole "2 week" line. You know hes getting some milage off of that one. Heres an excerpt from one of my posts...

IMMMMM BAAAAAAAAACCKKK!!! Left Tues at 2.00pm and got there Wed. 11.00am. 1200 miles...now I know why so many truckers have hemmoroids Got back today at 11.30am

Well when I got there, I got a room, showered up and then headed over to his shop. Knocked on the door, no answer. Looked at the time and saw it was 12.15 so I decided to wait till after lunch time. Knocked again after waiting awhile and VOILA, Nick opens the door.

Of course he had no idea who I was, but I knew who he was since he has his picture posted on his website. I came in and introduced myself. You can imagine the expression he made when he heard my name He knew exactly why I was there so I went straight to the point and said "Im here to find out whats going on with my motor." He takes a deep breath and says "Its not ready"

Him: We've been having some problems and things havent gone as Ive wanted/expected things to go. I know my problems arent your problems....

Me: ((shakes head)) ummmm-hmmmm

Him: I apologise for not returning your phone calls. I know I should of gotten back with you , but........I just should of gotten back with you. Again Im sorry for you having to come here.... Things started off so well and then we started to move in here from out other location and they did that GM High-Tech Performance article. Bottom line is we grew too big too fast. Im working real hard to resolve everything.....

Me: I understand.....I HAD to come up here because thats a lot of money for me to just sit back and not do anything about it.

Him: ((shakes head in agreement))

Me: I HAD to come here to see what was going on and I was really expecting to go back with either my motor or my money.

Him: ((pauses for a sec as hes thinkin)) .....Give me 2 weeks. In 2 weeks I'll have your motor shipped to Keith.

Me: ((pause for a sec while Im thinkin: He doesnt have my motor and obviously doesnt have the money either. I cant just beat him over the head with one of those cranks he got laying around But he does seem to be sincere about having the motor ready in 2 weeks.))....Ok Nick, we'll give it 3 weeks. The 2 weeks you say plus another for it to arrive. Is there another number where you can be reached at.

Him: No just the shop number. I promise to call you back when you leave a message.

He then stated something about the heads I chose not fitting properly so we decided to go with the AFR 210 instead of the AFR 220 originally planned. Then commented about a few other details and then I left and headed back home.
Thats the week before Thanksgiving 03 when I had to drive up to his shop from FL!! We are now into the second week of Feb 04. Maybe in his mind 2 weeks really means 2 yrs Get this...he had mentioned back in March 03 that the motor was 95% finished yet when I get there in late Nov he didnt have JACK to show me. Also, after talkin to some other of Nuteks unsatisfied (thats putting it lightly) customers/victims he had used that same "2 week" line on some else 2 weeks earlier, who also had to drive up to Nicks/Nutek shop cuz he couldnt get Nick to return any of his calls. Word of advice...dont hold your breath and start getting legal paperwork ready....theres a very good chance that you are going to need it.

Did anyone of you guys get an E-mail or any documentation of an expected delivery date of your engines? Anything in writting? I dont think your word of mouth will hold up in court that well, unless he himself is willing to admit he promised the delivery at those dates.

I am sorry for your problems guys. Makes me very weary of having my engine rebuilt by someone from another state.

In my opinion I would just go ahead and ask for your money or quietly file a lawsuit. The fact that he is taking new orders but no delivering any old ones told me he is very short of cash and very likely to file for bankrupcy. He may even be taking in as much cash as he can before he files for chapter 7.

yes at least in my case I have emails (as in many of them) promising that my motor would ship on such and such a date but guess what no motor ever showed. I got lucky and had most of my money refunded by the credit card company and Nick did return my stock parts, but still owes me over $1000 in cash.

BTW I am one of the guys who drove up and paid a surprise visit to Nick.
