Not your classic no start issue

So im done with my 6-speed conversion and my motor build. Its time to start the motor. First I had issues with the the vats system. I cleared that up and the security no longer blinks but stays stays there but Im able to crank the car. I have disabled vats through the computer and I have also put the correct resistor in from my key. So now, I go to start the car and begin breakin her in but theres one thing, she wont start.
Now im not a newbie when it comes to this, I started out verifiying if i was getting fuel and spark. I checked number 1 plug and it shocked the crap out of me(dont laugh). made sure I had fuel pressure(41psi). I put on the elbow and hooked up the maf. But all she does is puff out the inatake. I rechecked the valve lash and its all good. I drained out the old gas in the tank and put in fresh fuel. I also had the computer flashed for a stock 6-speed car which is what I need from my previose tune. Im all out of ideas as to why this car wont start. I also verified im not 180 out either. Any suggestions?

Re: Not your classic no start issue

you need to pull the cap off the car and make sure that your intake valve has just closed and the #1 piston is at top dead center. and make sure that your rotor is pointing at the #1 pin in the cap. i belive that is straight down and a little to the left if you are looking at it from the front. i had this problem and i just didnt have the rotor clocked right. i thought that the opti was master splined( that it can only go on in one place) but i was worng. check that and then if you got that right then i dont know what the deal is. if you have fuel and spark you need spark at the right time

180 degrees out of time will actually work fine. You can install a cam at 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock because #1 and #6 are at TDC so the opti will figure out the rest. Sounds to me like you are either off 1 tooth or the opti is installed wrong.

Pull the fuel rail and make sure the injectors are firing....just because you have fuel pressure doesn't mean the PCM is firing the injectors.

Luckilly, you don't really need to pull the rail to see if the injectors are firing.. you can just use fuel injector test lights (noids).. well, you can use them if you can get your hands on a set.. (bug any mechanic buddies you may have)
