Not using the back alternator bracket? Is that ok?

Is it ok to do this? I'm putting in my LT headers and it looks like a major PITA to install the small alternator bracket that goes into the head. I'm going to try.. but as a last resort.. will I be fine not using it?

Damn the front header bolt is a pain! I haven't been frustraded up untill this point I was doing so well

I would guess you really need it. It wouldn't be there if you didn't. Are you talking about the small little bar that stretches down from the back? You don't want it loosening up and throwing your pricey surpentine belt and damaging who knows what after it shreds into a few peices.

Same as the last 2 replies. I just made sure my alternator was aligned right. I'm currently only using 2 brackets and haven't had any problems. Don't worry about it.

no alternator "bracing" here, i just used the 2 bolts that actually go into the accesory bracket. makes it much easier to work on
