Not the normal car shutting off post
Tonight i was going over some bumps slowly and my car shut off. when i turned it back on, the clock was set at default, the stereo was off and my trip odometer was back to zero.
symptoms:
a little while after the torque converter install, my car was idoling low.
when it gets hot in traffic the rpms drop to about 490 and the car will stutter.
driving it home to garage it tonight, it kept shutting off, especially when turning.
i am thinking electrical problem somewhere, anyone got any ideas?
thanks.

Re: Not the normal car shutting off post
Sounds to me like you have a loose battery cable or a major bar ground... It also might seem possible that your alternator is going out, or your serp. belt is loose. When you turn, there is more pressure on the belt from the power steering... which might make it more likely to slip on the alternator. Check your cable connections on the battery and your belt tensioner and make sure all your accessories spin freely (with the tension loose).

well , today i checkes all the grounds and cleaned the battery connections. i also replaced the fuel filter and the throttle position sensor. after driving it around for a while, it never cut off, but still idled low. i am lost! what to do next?

Just A Little Story...
My Friends Truck While Driving On The Highway Would Shut Off Sometimes Or Even During Normal Driving Or In Bumps And He Would Pull Over All The Time And It Would Start Back Up. He Found The Battery Cables To The Batter Were Not Tight Enough

i believe i fixed that problem, now i am working on the low idle problem which started shortly after the torque converter install. any chance are these related? or is it something else?
