not happy with my dyno results

just got the car on the dyno, here is what i got

cc306 w/1.6 RRs
jethot long tubes
custom ypipe/i pipe, no muffler
comp tune from madz28
kn intake
3.23 a4

dynoed best 315rwhp/322rwtq

car was running mid 11s low 12s on the AFR so maybe i can pick up 10more hp if it was tuned right which would put me in the 330ish range i was expecting 340 or so

what do u say? i will get the chart scanned soon

Consider rockers may be too tight. You've got 15-20hp on the table with the tune. 335 through an auto isnt so bad. You could pick up a few more with a big TB, electric water pump and pullies

Re: not happy with my dyno results

Why did you install a CC306 if you're planning to install a turbo?

Re: not happy with my dyno results

because i've had my cc306 for 3 months now... if it doesnt work out well i'l gunna swap for a turbo cam, but if it works just for now imma stick with it, with such duration it should be ok/good

and yes its an STS

Re: not happy with my dyno results

if it is the set-up I am thinking of, I bottom out enough the way it is, so I would hate to destroy a turbo by hitting a bump in the road.

i agree you will be pushing exhaust back into your engine. you might want to sell me your 306 and grab a single pattern turbo cam.

Re: not happy with my dyno results

I disagree on it being a horrible cam for a turbo. It might not be the "best", but I'm sure its not the worst. One of the guys in MMFF says that the best turbo motors are optimized N/A first. I'd say the 306/847 style cams are pretty good power makers on a stock head LT1. It might not make a ton of boost, probably could use a bit tighter LSA.

Re: not happy with my dyno results

yeah, this will be an interesting thing to see, i can change the cam its no problem, but im def not gunna change out the cam if its gunna help me by like 5 hp, not worth all the stuff done imo... plus there is a rebuild on its way soon

anyways, way to off topic hijackers

the turbo will not bottom out, my friend has it on a lowered camaro, and its doing fine

Re: not happy with my dyno results

I never said the CC306 wouldn't make power with a turbo. It won't spool as fast, and you'll blow a little boost out the exhaust, but it'll still make power. Maybe it won't hurt as much since the turbo will basically be a cold setup.
