Is this normal??? Urgent!!!!!!!!
Ok, im doing the a4 to m6 swap, and im trying to install the master cylinder through the firewall. The rod that is coming out of the master cylinder in fully extended. It will not push in the cylinderr at all, and will not pull out anymore. I know you aren't supposed to push it in while the slave is out of the tranny, but I thought I possibly pulled it out farther than it was so I wanted to push it in a little more to install it to the clutch pedal, but when I went to push it in it does not budge. Anyways, is this normal for it not to move in or out???? I am assuming it will have to move in when the clutch pedal pushes on it. So, did I get a broken part with my t56 kit??? Hurry, im in the middle of working on it and any help would be awesome!!! Thanks.
TTT, I just want to know if this is normal, or if it shouldnt be doing this. There is no fluid in the resevoir, and nothing is hooked up. I can't think of anything I did wrong, but It just didn't seem like it should be like that. Somebody please shed some light on my situation. Thanks guys

hey.. sorry I cannot help you, but both marcin xxsupasaint69 or something like and lilbush555 or something have done this swap, you may want to PM them and find out
hope that points you in the right direction

you are talking about the rod through the firewall? I did this on my 82 last month.. that rod is pretty darn hard to push without the leverage of the pedal assembly on it.. if your clutch cylinder on the tranny can still be pushed (not pulled!) in you are fine..
if you do push on that rod and get it to move much you can push the whole piston out of the bore and then you are done.. go buy a new one..
